Baykar Mapping is developing a world-class imaging system. With the capability to scan 4,000 square kilometers per day, this system serves multiple industries. Our globally unique imaging system enables the mapping of vast areas within hours.
We evaluate engineers in four categories: foundational knowledge, domain expertise, communication and organizational skills, and motivation.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for engineers experienced in developing map-based web and mobile applications, server management, and cloud technologies. The ideal candidates are creative, performance-oriented, and proficient in various technologies that can enhance mapping solutions.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced knowledge and experience with React and React Native,
- Expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript,
- Development experience with Django or similar back-end frameworks,
- Proficiency with state management tools such as Redux or similar,
- Mastery of Docker and container technologies,
- Experience with PostgreSQL and other database management systems,
- Configuration and optimization knowledge of ViteJS or Webpack,
- Proficiency in API design and integration (RESTful APIs, GraphQL is a plus),
- Competence in version control tools like Git,
- Ability to perform unit and integration testing using tools like Jest and Cypress,
- Familiarity with raster and vector layer formats (e.g., GeoTIFF, Shapefile),
- Server management skills and experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.),
- Knowledge of best practices in software development,
- Willingness to work in Istanbul, Turkey (Hadımköy),
- Proficiency in English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of map-based frameworks such as MapLibre, Leaflet, or Mapbox,
- Experience with security, scalability, and performance optimization on AWS infrastructure,
- Expertise in microservices architecture and container-based infrastructure,
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD),
- Experience in performance optimization for high-traffic applications,
- Background in big data and map visualization,
- Strong communication and organizational skills,
- Proven track record of delivering successful engineering outcomes in challenging projects.
